"Everyone is Fat, Be Different"
I saw this quote on a response to an Aretha Franklin post on a blog, showing pictures of her recent B-Day celebration. Clad in a sleeveless gown, posed next to her inaugural hat-designed cake. As always, you have those who will remind the world that someone is big, with their ridiculous and off-subject remarks .::rollseyes::. but then people were defending her obesity, and one went far enough to even say that that's "just how black women are". WTH??? I then scrolled down some more and saw a post that simply said, "Everyone is Fat, Be Different". I can dig it.
Taking it further, I remember reading in this phenomenal book a while back "Maximized Living: Makeover" about the old Law of Reversal:
"To turn misery, disease and failure into joy, health and prosperity, you must think, speak and act, in ways which are the EXACT REVERSE of how most people think, speak and act."
I giggled at this initially, but it's true. Those who have wealth, are generally innovators, trailblazers, scholars, independent thinkers. Those who have supreme health steer clear of fast food and enjoy quality food, even physical challenges. Bottom line, when 70% of the women in my racial make-up are statistically overweight, to the point that someone would even have the mindset to think that "that's just how black women are" ... it's clearly time to be different and reverse!
